Patient Billing FAQs

Will Floyd file my insurance claim for me?
Yes. Patients are asked to provide information about health insurance, Medicaid or Medicare when they register to receive services. If this information is correct, we will file your claim for you.

If you do not provide information about your health care coverage or you provide incorrect information, you may contact us for how you may provide us with your health care coverage information. View telephone numbers.

What information will be on my billing statement?
After you receive services from a Floyd provider, we will notify you that your insurance or other health care coverage has been billed. After your insurance or other health care coverage program has paid Floyd, we will send you a statement showing the amount paid and your remaining balance.

Where do I mail my payment?
Floyd billing statements are mailed with a self-addressed return envelope. If you have misplaced your envelope or wish to make an additional payment, you may send your payment as follows:

Can I pay by phone or online?
You may pay any Floyd bill by telephone. Below is a list of numbers that vary depending on your bill.

What if I can't pay the full balance at one time?
Our Patient Financial Services Representatives will happily work with you to make payment arrangements. You must contact us to make these arrangements no later than 30 days after you receive your statement.

You will have the option to pay your balance within six months without incurring any interest. Payments will be evenly divided according to whether you choose 30, 60 or 90 days or 6-months financing. We also offer extended financing and payment options, with interest accruing, to give you more flexibility. Our Patient Financial Services Representatives can help you determine the option that best meets your needs.

What happens if I don't make payment arrangements or my balance remains unpaid?
If no payment arrangements are made, the account will be placed with a collection agency or attorney with related fees added to the account balance.

How long will it take to settle with my insurance company, Medicaid or Medicare?
Most often, it takes between 45 and 60 days to obtain payment from insurance providers or other health care coverage programs. If you have not received notification of payment from your health care coverage program within 60 days, contact your insurer or coverage program.

Is financial assistance available?
Financial assistance for patients who are not covered by insurance or another health care program may be eligible for an income-based hospital assistance program. Eligibility is limited to those whose income and family size fall within certain percentages of the federal poverty guidelines. Our Patient Financial Counselors can discuss these options with you and may be reached at 706.509.6940.

Why am I getting multiple bills for different services?
Each physician, including our hospitalists, Emergency physicians and Neonatologist, who provides professional services will send you a separate bill. You may also receive a separate bill from the radiologist who reads your diagnostic images, a pathologist who reads your labs or from the anesthesiologist who assists in your procedure.
