Cerner was the chosen vendor to provide the computer application to bring electronic record keeping for patient information to Floyd. Cerner’s applications have the ability to advance the digitization of individual electronic medical records to meet the needs of care providers, support professionals and health care consumers.EMR will provide the following:

• Ability to update medications electronically
• Positive patient identification
• Clinical documentation and order entry

The project will transform and consolidate the patient medical record into a single digital source that will allow patient information to be safely and securely communicated to all providers of care who need to see it. Some key benefits are:
