Floyd is committed to providing you with an outstanding educational experience that will help prepare you for a career in health care. Floyd has partnered with Blue Ridge Area Health Education Center (AHEC) to approve and coordinate clinical experiences for students at Floyd. 

To ensure that our patients are protected and our students are well prepared, we need you to complete organizational requirements prior to beginning your experience at Floyd.

1. Complete the Application Packet for your applied learning experience and fax to Blue Ridge AHEC at 866.521.1542. Please select one of the following packets:
   
   
   • Shadow/Observer (less than three days)
   • Shadow/Observer 3+ Days
   • Student Rotation
   • Preceptorship
   • Physician Student Rotation*
     
     
2. Begin Online Orientation
   Fulfill Floyd’s education requirement by completing the online non-employee orientation and submit a passing score of 85. The orientation quiz consist of 50 questions. Please allow 30 - 60 minutes to complete the course.

*Rotation applicants should also submit a rotation request form if a clinical instructor has not already submitted
